(By the way, for the linguists among us, his last name, Zschokke, shows how the German Esszett introduces a proper noun. Recall that the Esszett is not a single character, but rather two characters: an antique s [ſ] and an antique z [ʒ], squeezed tightly together [ſʒ] into a ligature [ß] which has come to be regarded as a single letter. But, this Esszett, or sz, as its name translates to in English, is majiscule [lower-case] only. So, how is a bicameral script, like ours, to capitalize a ligature which is miniscule? By breaking the ligature into its components. So, unlike Welsh with its double miniscules [Llewellyn is improper; llewellyn is correct], instead of ßchokke or even SZchokke, the name is properly spelled Zschokke. Why not Szschokke? Because that's just too weird, so it's Zschokke. Besides, in German, there are rules against tripple letters. For example, Schiff (ship) + Farht (transport) would be one word in German, Shifffahrt, but then that rule against three letters kicks in to get rid of that third f, giving us Schiffahrt (shipping). And szs really counts as a tripple letter, so one of them has to go, but ss never begins a word, so the first s is removed instead of the z. And we would pronounce it something like SHOAK eh.)

I imagine that, like me, you, too, probably ascribed all the drama in the wake of the death of Princess Diana to just so much tabloid fodder. I mean, they have to have something to print, right? So they'll milk even a speculative story for all it's worth. But Q has me feeling gullible, and not for falling for his conspiracy theories, but because a) they ring the bell of truth for me, and b) they connect to too many other things I already knew and/or believed.
