I haven't had to water my yard at all so far this year.
And the grass is growing FAST!
We're talking about six inches a week, maybe more.
No one in my entire neighborhood has had to water their yard so far this year.
The grounds maintenance crew has not turned on the sprinklers in the common areas a single time so far this year.
This year is very different from the past two years we've lived here. By this time last year, and the year before, we were watering the lawn every day.
It's too wet.
The rivers and canals are all at or near their high marks. Every rain like this has them overflowing into their flood-control channels.
Remember California's Oroville dam?

I was recently discussing the state of politics in the world and our nation with a friend. He's a liberal. (Yes, I do have liberal friends.) I finally had to ask him, ...
"What are you going to do when your heroes are hung for treason?"
You should have seen the look on his face.
"W ... w ... why would they be hung?"
"That's the penalty for treason."
"They're not traitors! This is just politics."
"That's what a lot of John Wilkes Booth's friends told themselves, too. But they all swung. Four of them. Including his own mother. But, supposedly, at least some of them never really believed Booth would kill Lincoln. There's an old saying about this: Every pebble in a landslide pleads innocence."
Blank stare.
"What are you going to do when the political party you support is disbanded, outlawed, all its leaders imprisoned, some for life, and all the funds seized?"
"How can their funds be seized?"
"Are you familiar with the Executive Order President Trump signed back in December of 2017?"
"No."
"It declares a national emergency, and authorizes the Department of Justice to block (seize) the assets of anyone or any organization involved in human trafficking."
"Human trafficking?!"
"You didn't know about the EO. You haven't heard about the trafficking. Have you even heard about Pizzagate?"
