As for me, given all that I've learned lately, I'm not too eager to dismiss him out of hand.

What to do?
So you and your troll buddies, who've all been around a long, long time, agree to pool your vast experience, and hatch a plan: Get the humans to fight each other so much that they forget all about you, and any casualties or disappearances will be written off to the 'fog of war'.
You know, for the good of troll-kind.
So you and your buddies sneak out at night, in disguise, among the humans. You start posting bills (signs) (an early form of Op-Ed pieces in today's newspapers) hinting at concerns about the people on the other side of the bridge. There have been disappearances, after all. And then, of course, there are those morons who'd have us believe there are trolls under the bridges, but we've all had enough of those conspiracy theory nuts, right?
But, winter is nearing. It's even beginning to look like an early autumn. And the humans are noticing, too. What to do?
Over the weeks, you all ramp up the tone and urgency of the language. You even post responses to each others' writings, making it look like there's a legitimate conversation going on among humans, when, really, it's just you and your troll buddies.
In time, people start pressing their leaders for answers. At the same time, you start directly calling out those same leaders, accusing them of incompetence, complacency, and indifference.
Eventually, the humans start shouting at each other over the chasm. They accuse each other of every manner of offense. They start sending out spies among each other. Tensions rise, and war eventually breaks out.
You and your troll buddies feast like never before.
Ok. Interesting story, but so what?
We're the people, of course, and Hydra, the trolls. And, as we've been saying for months now, they're frantic to get all their programs, that President Trump set back by a decade or more, back on course, making their activities so obvious anyone can see what they're up to.
The problem, according to critics of this theory, is that, if Hydra has been so clever for so long, slowly building the chains and cages which imprison us, and Donald Trump set those plans back a decade or more, then why wouldn't they just pick up where they left off, slowly building all over again, maybe even slower than before because of all the scrutiny Trump brought to bear on them?
And that's not a bad question. The only problem is that the answer is so very troubling. And it's troubling because it reveals so very, very much. It reveals that both Hydra and the patriots know that there's some deadline that can't be postponed.
Winter is coming.
But, this is no ordinary, annual winter; this is a millennial, empire-ending winter, the sort that forever turned the lights out on empires all over the world several times throughout history.
They think.
The question is debated. It could actually be even worse than that.
It reveals that this has been deliberately withheld from humanity, perhaps even completely inverted into global warming. And, if inverted, then the only reason can be that they wanted to make this impending, natural catastrophe as severe as possible, blaming their inverted version on us, demanding that we sacrifice to reverse what we had no part in, and which doesn't even exist anyway, as evidenced by all the wealthy and powerful buying up the waterfront real estate, proving that they aren't the least worried about any supposedly rising oceans.
All those accusing Hydra of being genocidal Eugenicists are now all absolved; conspiracy theorists no more, they are now all, officially, like me, conspiracy analysts.
The earth will absolutely end in fire. We know that. But that time is not yet.
All the history that scientists have ever been able to dig up, and agree on, shows that the natural, normal state of the earth is frozen.
And those days are on the way back before we need to worry about the fire.
And there's only one way to escape that.
